Got a hobby or interest that you’re really passionate about? Something that you could talk about for hours and still feel that you haven’t quite said enough yet? Then Wealthy Affiliate might be for you.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned throughout the years, it’s to be skeptical towards outrageous claims about “make-money-products”, especially on the internet. So after stumbling upon Wealthy Affiliate I couldn’t help asking myself “Is Wealthy Affiliate a scam or…?”.
There was only one way to find out – by taking it out for a spin! I signed up in 2014 and was well on my way to expose it for the obvious scam it was… or so I thought.
What I actually found was one of the most complete and straight-to-the-point affiliate marketing courses for bloggers I’d ever seen.

Complete Training – From Zero Knowledge to Ninja Blogger
When it comes to learning how to start a blog that makes you serious money, Wealthy Affiliate is without a doubt the leading training platform there is. As you sign up, you get to choose between two different training programs:
- Online Entrepreneur Certification (OEC). Learn how to take something you’re very passionate about, like a hobby or interest, and turn it into a blog that earns you sustainable income. If you don’t know what to blog about yet, don’t worry. This course helps you to pick a niche (subject) as well.
- Affiliate Bootcamp. Start a blog that focuses on teaching people how to earn income online, mainly by promoting Wealthy Affiliate. I recommend you go through the bootcamp after you’ve started earning money with your first blog.
Pick the one that suits your needs the best. Personally, I first went through the OEC, and started a blog in the health niche. It’s still running and I’m adding content to it on a weekly basis.
The training takes you step-by-step towards building your blog, and usually contains videos that go more in-depth (I love these). At the end of each lesson you are assigned tasks to expand your blog with the new information you’ve learned.
Furthermore, continuous updates to the training are made to ensure that all content is fresh, true and relevant. Even though Wealthy Affiliate was launched in 2005, the training inside looks completely different now from when it was first created.
At the end of your training, you’ll be an expert blogger and able to help struggling members accomplish the same progress as you. (if you wish)
If you’d happen to run into any issues or get stuck in the training, there’s always help around the corner. Either ask in the comments in the training area or Live Help (more in that later), contact Site Support or send me a message. I’m more than willing to help!
Awesome Community – Like Facebook For Bloggers
You are never alone in your journey towards building a blog that generates a full-time income. There are thousands of people just like you, and they’re all gathered inside the Wealthy Affiliate platform.
I like comparing it to Facebook, but for bloggers. Because that’s essentially what it is. Wealthy Affiliate is a really social platform and you can easily get help, make new friends who strive towards the same goals as you, or just read what others are up to. (Members often post updates on their successes and struggles)
This is the first place I turn to when I’m feeling low and in need motivation or inspiration. (It happens to everyone)
In my opinion, the community alone is worth the $49/month. The rest is just gravy!
Personal Mentorship – Pick My Brain… Anytime!
When I say that I want to help you succeed, I’m not lying. You can find me inside the members area and I’m more than willing to help you with any issues that might arise!
I don’t mean to toot my own horn, but I’m quite knowledgable when it comes to the technical aspects of building a blog. (Programming is one of my hobbies)
I’ve also been doing this affiliate marketing thing for 5+ years now, so if there’s something on your mind, I’m most likely going to be able to answer any questions you might have.
So when you sign up, you’ll be getting me as your personal mentor! I’ll be there to help and guide you in your venture towards building a profitable blog. I’m looking forward to having you!
Weekly Live Webinars – Expand Your Knowledge Every Single Week
Ah… Jay. What a guy. Jay Neill is a member who holds a live webinar every Friday. Even after going through the core training, you’ll still be able to learn new techniques and methods to improve your blog.
The webinars are usually about an hour long each, and afterwards there’s a Q&A where members get to ask questions related to the webinar.
Jay is a very laid back guy and easy to understand. He’s extremely informative and educational, and always tries to make sure you understand what he’s talking about before proceeding through the rest of the webinar. He’s very good at what he does and I recommend you pop in on a Friday if you get the chance.
Also, in case you miss a webinar, or maybe feel something went over your head during the live session, you can always re-watch it. All webinars are recorded and uploaded to the Wealthy Affiliate platform a few hours after they finish.
This is great for someone like me who doesn’t live in the U.S., since the webinars are held at 2am (my local time). I know that when I wake up on Saturday, I can pour myself a cup of coffee, kick back and watch the webinar in peace. If I need to go to the bathroom or take a phone call, I’ll just pause the webinar and continue watching again when I’m not busy.
Secure Hosting – Focus On Blogging & Let The Pros Handle The Rest
What I really love about Wealthy Affiliate is that they take care of more than just teaching you how to build your business. They also make sure that your blog is secure, so that you don’t have to.
You can focus on blogging rather than worry about whether somebody is going to hack their way into your blog’s back-end. Additionally, the connection to your website is protected by SSL, to further improve security.
And this is included in the price, I might add. The hosting of your blog comes with no extra charge. Everything mentioned in this review is included in the fee.
The only thing I feel a bit disappointed with is that security sometimes prohibits activation of plugins or themes that require connection to a remote server. However, this can generally be solved by contacting site support.
24/7 Site Support – Because Downtime Is Lethal
If, for some reason, your blog runs into any technical issues, the Wealthy Affiliate site support is there to help you at every hour of the day. Like you and me, they know that downtime can be deadly to your daily revenue. Your blog needs to be up and running in order to generate money.
But it’s not just downtime they can help you with. Any of the following problems can be solved by the awesome site support team:
- Blog is down
- Plugins on your blog
- Themes on your blog
- Blog is slow
- Login issues
- SSL (Secure connection to your blog)
- Restoring a blog
- Importing a blog
So if your blog runs into any kind of technical issues, never hesitate to give the site support a shout. They’re there to help your blog to run as smoothly as possible.
Live Help – Chat With Members Just Like You… Live!
One of my absolute favorite features of Wealthy Affiliate is the Live Help area.
This is a live chat where you get to talk to other members in real time. You can ask and offer help, build new connections, make some new friends or just peek in at what others are talking about and learn as much as you can from them.
Live Help is a goldmine of information, but I prefer to use it as a way to connect with other fellow bloggers who strive towards those very same goals as myself – building a blog that generates a full-time income online.
Don’t be afraid to participate. The more you integrate yourself into the community, the more and faster you’ll be able to learn. And as you share your knowledge with other members, they are eventually going to start sharing tips with you!
*** My Very Special Bonus for YOU! ***
Currently, I’m offering a very special bonus ONLY to readers of my blog. To receive it, you’ll only have to do 2 things:
- Join Wealthy Affiliate.
- Get your profile page set up.
What the bonus is? Well, I’ve decided to make that a surprise, so that you’ll have something to look forward to once you join.
All I can say is that it goes with the theme of this very blog, and will help you make even more money with your own blog!
So if you decide to join (which I think you should), then wait for my message to arrive and claim your bonus.
See you on the inside!
So… Is Wealthy Affiliate Really Worth It?
You’ll be the judge of that.
As a starter member, you join for free and are able to take part of the first 10 lessons. These are enough to get your blog up and running and to let you get a feel for whether the platform is a good fit for you.
If you decide to go premium for either $49 per month, $234 every 6 monts or $359 per year, you’ll get the following:
- The full training. (120 lessons)
- Incredible and helpful community.
- Me, as your personal mentor.
- Live webinars with Jay.
- Safe and secure hosting.
- 24/7 technical support.
- Access to the entire community via live chat.
- Research tools.
- Access to Wealthy Affiliate’s affiliate program.
- Training created by members.
- Advanced training to be used after full training is completed.
Only you can decide whether this is worth the money or not. In my case, it’s been totally worth it. To tell you the truth, I think the price is a little on the low end, considering what you get.
I do recommend that you sign up for the starter plan first, though. Get a feel for the training platform and make sure that it’s a good fit for you. It’s free and doesn’t require a credit card, so you’ve really got nothing to lose.
If you do sign up, look me up inside the members area and feel free to send me a message. I’d be more than happy to have a chat with you!
