What Is Jaaxy & How Does It Work?

Jaaxy was founded by Kyle Loudoun and Carson Lim – the successful duo behind services such as Wealthy Affiliate and SiteRubix. It’s a keyword tool designed to save you precious time in your research – time that is better spent creating valuable content for your readers.

Usually when I talk about Jaaxy, I mainly refer to the keyword research tool. However, Jaaxy is so much more than that. It’s a complete package of tools to gather data about your niche, keywords, competition and rankings – just to name a few.

Here are just a few examples of what Jaaxy can do:

1. Keyword Research

On Google, there’s an average of 3.5 billion searches made each day. That’s a lot of people searching for a lot of stuff.

But how can we know what people are searching for? How can we know what kind of information they’re after?

It’s simple. We do proper keyword research, of course!

In order to be able to sell anything online, you need to base your articles around keywords that people are actually searching for.

This is where Jaaxy really shines, as you’ll get several additional suggestions for each keyword you search for. I’ve many times found a lot better keywords than that ones I’ve originally searched for.

To determine which keyword you should pick, you get detailed information about how hard each keyword is to rank for, what kind of competition you’re up against and how much traffic you can expect to get from that word.

2. Assess Your TRUE Competition

Being able to determine your true competition is crucial, especially when you’re trying to enter a new niche.

Jaaxy is able to determine how hard or easy it will be for you to rank for a keyword across a range of search engines. (Google, Yahoo! & Bing)

You’re able to copy the methods of your competition, in order to rank high in the search engine result pages. For example, you can dig into a competitor’s website and see details about the meta tags, rankings in alexa, keyword density, backlinks and more.

To beat your competition, you must first know who your competition really is.

3. Save Your Keywords In Lists

I used to have problems keeping track of all the keywords I wanted to use in my posts. Luckily, in Jaaxy you can save all relevant keyword in lists.

So for example, this blog that you’re reading now (AMCritic.com) focuses on generating a full-time income via blogging, so I’ve put all the “make money blogging” keywords in one list. That way, I can just open the list and pick a keyword next time I want to write a post.

The keyword lists work like the search results – they display the full stats for each keyword. However, you’ll also see a summary of how many keywords the list contains, and the average estimated traffic you’ll get from all the keywords combined.

Sometimes, when I feel extra lazy and unmotivated, I just look at the total estimated traffic of my keyword list and think: “If I write posts based around all these keywords, I’ll get this massive amount of traffic to my blog”. It usually gets my creativity going.

4. Find Affiliate Programs For Your Blog

Chances are that you’re going to make money with your blog.

Finding the right affiliate program for your niche can sometimes be quite the hassle.

Luckily, Jaaxy offers a tool that you can use to search through 15,000+ affiliate programs, in order to find the right one.

The programs include Amazon, Clickbank and CJ – to name a few.

5. Track Your Rank In Search Engines

If I put time and effort into writing an awesome article, I wanna know that my efforts haven’t been all for nothing. So after I’ve finished writing a post, I add the keyword to a rank tracker.

This rank tracker automatically searches for my keyword every two days (this frequency can be changed) in order to determine how I rank in the search engines.

Having a ranking tracker which does all the hard lifting for me saves me a butt-load of time – time I can spend on writing even more posts on my blog.

6. Spy On Your Competitors’ Rankings

Jaaxy also lets me keep track of the rankings of my competition. I usually find this feature helpful when Google releases a major update to their algorithm, and blogs start bouncing up and down the result pages.

However, even without a Google update, it’s always a good thing to know where you have your competitor’s.

7. Find Domains For Your Keyword

There are discussions about whether having your keyword in your domain name positively affects search engine rankings. Personally, I don’t think you should put too much thought into it, because normally it’s your posts that are supposed to rank well.

I decided to go with a more – in theory – brandable name (AMCritic) rather than a keyword rich domain. (like makemoneyblogging)

This is just my personal preference, as I feel it would be easier to build a recognizable brand with AMCritic. Any domain name is most likely fine, as long as it makes sense or isn’t too long.

Anyway, you can use Jaaxy to find domain names that match your keywords.

Additionally, you can start building up a database of high traffic domains to sell. Each search result for a keyword displays availability for the three most popular top-level domains. (.com, .net and .org)

8. Discover New Niches

By analyzing popular trends online and then brainstorming around them, you can discover untapped niche markets you never knew existed.

Connect the dots between seemingly unrelated subjects and then do your regular keyword research to find out whether you’ve got a brand new niche at your fingertips.

For example, did you know that Halle Berry, Tom Hanks and Nick Jonas all have diabetes? Well, I do now – after brainstorming with Jaaxy!

9. Find “Hidden” Keywords In Google

Have you ever tried searching for something in Google, and then keep adding letters just to see what shows up? By doing this, you’re taking advantage of Google’s autocompletion system, which provides suggestions for search queries based on what other users have searched for.

And that’s exactly what we’re after – the queries other people are typing into Google!

In Jaaxy, there’s a feature called Alphabet Soup, which does this automatically for us. All you have to do is type your search query, and Jaaxy will try to find suggestions for the search query + each letter throughout the alphabet. Like so:

  • Search query + a
  • Search query + b
  • Search query + c
  • etc…

The result of using Alphabet Soup will be a huge list of potential new keywords for you to use!

How Do You Use Jaaxy?

Working with Jaaxy is fairly straight forward. You set up an account (either FREE or PRO) and then start searching for your keywords.

As you type in a keyword, more suggestions will pop up below it. You’ll also get a ton of data for each keyword, such as:

  • Average number of searches per month.
  • Average estimated monthly traffic from a page #1 ranking.
  • The true competition across multiple search engines.
  • Keyword quality.
  • SEO score based on traffic and competition (namely, how easy it’d be to rank on page #1)
  • Available keyword rich domains.

After finding one or several keywords that fit your criteria, you can easily add them to a list where you’ll keep all the relevant keywords collected. This makes it easy to find them when you need them again.

Keep in mind that this is only one of the ways to use Jaaxy. There are so many features you can take advantage of that it’d be impossible go into depth of them all in this post.

The Pros & Cons of Jaaxy

Like every single product or service online, Jaaxy definitely comes with both its advantages and short-comings. However, I feel that there are too many pros to list here, so I’m going to stick to the ones I like absolutely the best.

Pros

  • Easy to use and evaluate keywords. Jaaxy is – without a doubt – the most simple keyword tool to work with. After signing up, you’ll be up and running (collecting profitable keywords) in no-time.
  • Keeps track of SERP rankings for you. Optimizing your posts for keywords is useless without knowing whether you rank for them. Jaaxy tracks your keywords automatically. Just set it and forget it!
  • Comes in both FREE and Premium versions. The most expensive plan is called Enterprise and is priced at $99/mth. The step below it is the one I recommend for bloggers – Jaaxy PRO. It is available for a reasonable $49/mth and has all the necessary functionality you’ll ever need. However, I suggest testing the FREE version first, to make sure this tool is for you.
  • More than just a keyword tool. With a heap of functionality, Jaaxy is essentially a complete business strategy package. Plan, assess, spy and execute!

Cons

  • Free version is pretty slow and limited. Since FREE users only have access to 1x search speed, keyword research can feel a bit slow. Additionally, functionality is quite limited compared to PRO version.
  • Occasionally has problems obtaining competition statistics. There have been one or two times when Jaaxy has had issues with fetching all the competition details for keywords. In my experience, it’s very rare, but I figured it’s still worth bringing to your attention.

How Does Jaaxy Differ From Other Tools?

Many of the conventional keyword research tools fetch data from Google and then display it to the user with neat formatting.

However, I see two issues with doing it this way:

  1. The data is already available for free on Google. The tools just present it in their own way.
  2. They only take one search engine into account. Sure, Google is by far the biggest one, but there’s plenty of traffic to be had from both Yahoo! and Bing as well. With Jaaxy, you get to evaluate your TRUE competition.

Simply put, Jaaxy assists you with getting as much traffic as possible from each keyword, by taking into account what people are searching for on the most popular search engines – not just Google.

Jaaxy Search Engines
Jaaxy determines the TRUE competition by looking through all the big search engines. Google is definitely the biggest one, but Yahoo! and Bing are still very relevant and can provide you with lots of traffic.

My Verdict

I guess it comes as little surprise, but personally I believe that Jaaxy is the best keyword research tool for SEO.

The reason for this is simple – it’s really not just a plain keyword tool. If you use it right, you can plan your entire SEO strategy into the most minuscule detail.

Despite this fact, Jaaxy is extremely easy to use. You just sign up and off you go, finding those profitable money keywords for your blog.

Additionally, you can discover new niches, spy on your competition and track your own progress in the SERP rankings, thanks to Jaaxy’s rich functionality. It’s as powerful as you make it.

While the FREE version is a bit limited, I definitely recommend that you take it for a spin before you decide whether to spend any money on Jaaxy. Test it out first, just to see how you like it. I mean, it’s free after all.

So get yourself a FREE account here and let’s salvage some great keywords!

Jaaxy Bonus

BONUS: Get Even More Value For Your Money!

As I’ve mentioned, the FREE version of Jaaxy is a quite limited. For example, you only get 30 monthly searches.

So to get unlimited searches you would have to upgrade to PRO for $49/mth.

However, there is a step between FREE and PRO called Jaaxy Lite and it comes bundled in the Premium plan of Wealthy Affiliate. You see, the Premium plan of Wealthy Affiliate is also $49/mth, just like Jaaxy PRO.

In case you don’t know what Wealthy Affiliate is, I recommend that you read through my review. Simplified, it’s a training program where you’ll learn to create a blog that makes money, such as this very one you’re reading right now!

So my top tip for you is to sign up to Wealthy Affiliate to get a bigger bang for your buck!
